Float Times: The Comal River is
experiencing lower than normal
water levels due to the ongoing
drought in Central Texas. River
levels determine the length or
duration of your float trip. The
average "Float Time" is taking
around 4 hours, give or take. There
may be a few slow spots during
your float where you may need to
paddle to move forward.
Time Saving Tip: If there is a long
line to get into the river at the
Main River Entry, go to the
other side of our Parking Lot
and use our
2nd River Entry!
Best Time To Float The Comal River:
1) Families/Kids - Weekdays,
and Sunday mornings before
12 noon are kid friendly times,
avoid Saturdays for younger kids!
2) Party People - All day on Saturdays
and after 12 noon on Sundays!
Peak Alcohol consumption!
3) People who hate crowds -
Float the river weekday
mornings before 11am for
the fewest people on the river!
